Safmarine Case Study

Safmarine is a container company with in the import and export industry. Safmarine wanted to host a family function for the employees. The reason behind this was to build relationships between the employees and let them get to know each other on a more personnel basis.

The function that they approached SilvaSale with was to hold a family activity day at the Wanderers Club for 2500 people. This would entail activities from ages 5 – 50 years old. Catering stands, a mini farm town, Inflatable’s, Bars with various beverages.

SilvaSale having the experience in event management, had to organize everything for the Safmarine Function.

Firstly SilvaSale had to get permission to use the fields with such extreme requests.

We had to get a rain plan, as well as a risk management approval to host the function on the fields. We had to bring in extra electricity and generators for the function.

We erected 4 marquees on the fields as well as gazebo’s. Provide the chairs and table, as well as all the crockery and cutlery for the guests. Décor was arranged for the tables as well as for the VIP marquee, flowers, linen chair covers ect.

SilvaSale handled all the catering for the function, and built up numerous kitchen areas. We had chefs to man each one of these stands. We also had to provide the function with beverages area, so we set up beer gardens as well as bar areas.

All sanitary facilities where brought in, for the function, and had janitors to look after designated areas.

We organized the security for the function that monitored the function from the build up day to the breakdown day. We assigned crowed controllers to monitor the guest through out the function to make sure that all the guests were safe. Child minders were brought in to look after the kids areas.

SilvaSale arranged the audio visual equipment for the function, with regards to the PA systems and the microphones.
