Profile >> Meet Marco & Pedro

Marco Sale, equipped with a Diploma in Hospitality Management, has been involved in event management, sporting and social hospitality for more than a decade, and consequently has gained a vast amount of knowledge in understanding the fundamental elements required to make an event a success. Marco has been instrumental in supporting The Nelson Mandela Square with many of their exhibitions, car launches, fashion shows and ice-rinks and to date continues to do so. Another of Marco’s feats was to contribute towards the Inauguration of Nelson Mandela in 1994 as well as the Millennium Celebration at the Union Buildings, Pretoria.

His knowledge not only encompasses that of catering and hiring of equipment but also of the structural and logistical components in organising a large scale event. Marco is often called upon personally to assist with the Oppenheimer family events which require creativity, superior quality, discretion and most importantly reliability.

Marco believes in hands-on event management and through his relationships with key international and national suppliers, is able to ensure clients maximum flexibility, locality, and reliability without compromising the quality of deliverables. Furthermore budget management is never disregarded and always adhered to.

Mozambique-born Pedro Silva who’s association with Marco spans more than a decade, has an innate passion for food, fine wines, cognacs and cigars. Every single wine on the list has been personally tasted and enjoyed by Pedro. He often advocates that he doesn’t collect but rather consumes.

Pedro’s long history in the food and beverage industry saw him as the owner of successful Kei Catering in the Eastern Cape, only to be followed by the Verandas at the Inanda Club and more recently Silva Sale Events.

Having been raised in a home environment where family would sit around the table to eat and drink the best of what was on offer can be attributed to his life’s dedication to hospitality. To Pedro, taste and quality are paramount.

Pedro’s dedication to providing more than just good food, extends to staff that are informed, intelligent, professional, never over-bearing and always there when required.
